Plot: Nonito "The Filipino Flash" Donaire, won against Rafael "El Torito" Concepcion and grabbed the World Boxing Association (WBA) interim super flyweight title via unanimous decision in the main event of "Pinoy Power 2" Saturday night in Las Vegas at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. Despite the fact that Concepcion is much heavier and bigger than the Filipino boxer, still Donaire landed more punches that made him big points and favored by the 3 judges. Judge Max De Luca scored it at 117-111, Duane Ford saw it at 115-113 while Jerry Roth gave a 116-112 edge all for Donaire. On the other hand, a non title fight was dominated by a Filipino by stopping Mexican Ernesto Zepedata by Melligen on the 4th round. However, the 21-year-old Bernabe Concepcion of the Philippines was disqualified for throwing punches after the bell sounded to end the seventh round, allowing Luevano to escape with the win and the title.
