In an emotional journey the workshop team race to bring an ex-rally Ford Cortina Mk1 back to its best, after 20 years off the road. It's owned by a motorsport loving family who all took part in rallying around the world, from Peking to Paris and across the Inca Trail. Now John - Father, husband and regular driver - is in a care home and the family need to sell their beloved car to raise funds for his care. Touched by their story the team get the engine running once again, respray the bonnet and overhaul everything from the brakes to the damaged windscreen. Washing away decades of dirt it is finally rally ready, guaranteeing the car will fetch its best sale price.A Peugeot 306 GTi hot hatch is fast running out of road, with a ripped sports interior, a leaky roof and dodgy electrics. The crew work flat out to give this nineties icon back its driver appeal, but the car is full of unexpected surprises and the team need to use all their skill to turn nasty niggles around and deliver a fun car for the B roads back to its enthusiastic owner.
