After losing badly the previous year, the team players know that they need to find a more reliable pitcher, and Mr. Mumfort's golden arm seems to be heaven-sent. Everything is going beautifully until bets are made, prompting Mr. Mumfort's no-nonsense wife to forbid him to play amidst such silly gambling.
