It's a hive of activity at Skeldale as Helen & the kids make birthday cards for Mrs Hall. When Dorothy and Helen hear that Edward can't visit for Mrs Hall's birthday, they plan a little surprise for her. But putting her feet up is going to be easier said than done.When a mystery dog appears in town, it falls to Tristan to figure it out.James and Siegfried check on Mr Bushell's cow, Bella, and realise they are going to have to take a huge risk and attempt a difficult surgery that neither of them have ever done before and have to go in blind. Whether they can save the cow and her calf remains to be seen.Mrs Pumphrey arrives to discuss the WI and Mrs Hall enlists her help with an interloper.Dorothy learns what the house really needs.
